Board of Directors

The Hopkins Fastpitch board consists entirely of volunteers. The board meets monthly, typically the third Monday of each month from 7-9 p.m. in the conference room at Bloomgren Hanson Legal. Board meetings are open to league families and players. Note that if you have a topic you would like to specifically address to the board at a meeting, please contact the board in advance to discuss your topic in order to get on the agenda.

There also are typically one or more open board positions at any time. If interested in serving on the board, please contact the board at the email below to express your interest. Board minutes of the meeting will be posted regularly.

Executive Board

Nicole Schoonover
President

Nicole has served on the board since 2021. She has coached the last 3 years and has a daughter at the 10U level.

Matt Hanson
Vice President

Matt has served on the board since November of 2017 and has a daughter in 10U, and at 8U. Matt coaches and is also a clinician during the Fall and Winter.

Sharda Enslin
Secretary & Social Media

A self-described "sports mom" to five kids, joined the Board in 2020. Sharda serves as a coach and winter clinician, and her two daughters-a pitcher and a catcher - play at the 12U level. In addition to helping players develop their athletic abilities, Sharda is passionate about the role of youth sports in building confidence, determination and gumption in young girls, transferable skills that can continue to serve them in life both on and off the field.

Toni Hofstad
Treasurer

Toni Hofstad has served on the board since 2016. She has been running the Royal Rampage Tournament for the last 5 years. In addition to Hopkins Fastpitch, Toni volunteers her time on various committees and non-profits for the Hopkins community. Her daughter, Abi, is a accomplished pitcher for Hopkins High School and Midwest Speed.

Becca Lewis
COACHES TRAINING

Becca has been coaching softball for the last 25 years for different programs and age levels. She is currently a JV assistant coach for Hopkins High School. Becca is a Hopkins High School alumni and played softball for the high school from 1997-2001. She currently has a daughter in the 8U program.

Dan Dohse
EQUIPMENT

Dan has served on the board since 2014 serving various roles including President, Vice President, and Director of Player Development. In addition to serving as our equipment director, he currently helps coach at the 10U level.

Heather Discher
FUNDRAISING, SPONSORSHIPS & COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Heather has served on the board since August of 2023 and has a daughter in 10U. She spends most of her time at either the softball or lacrosse field where her 13 year old daughter plays. She enjoys spending time outside with her 2 girls and getting on the lake as much as possible.

FIELDS & UMPIRES

Steve lives in Hopkins with his wife and two teenagers. He is actively involved with Hopkins Area Little League as well as Hopkins Fastpitch. Steve has been an assistant coach for six seasons, is an avid sports fan and loves to help where he can.

CLINICS COORDINATOR

Steve started on the board in 2023 and has a daughter in 10U. Steve coaches and is also a clinician during the Winter. Steve is also a coach and board member for his son who plays in the Hopkins Baseball Association.

COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Carl Yancy
NON-VOTING MEMBER AT-LARGE

Carl was named head coach of the Hopkins High School team in the fall of 2018 after serving many years as the assistant coach. He has coached at the community, club, high school, and college level. He previously was actively involved in the Eden Prairie association serving several leadership roles when his daughter played there. Carl is a non-voting member of the Board.
