Hopkins Fastpitch is the only fastpitch softball association within the Hopkins School District. Fastpitch is how softball is played at the junior high, high school, and college levels. Our goal to provide a fun, casual environment where girls can learn and develop the skills and fundamentals necessary to advance in the game of fastpitch softball. No experience is necessary. Don't be left wondering "what if." Join, meet new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime.
Summer fastpitch begins in late April (practices) with games running May-July. Hopkins Fastpitch offers the following levels of competition in the summer:
Developmental Program - Developmental teams emphasize player development through a gradual advancement of fastpitch softball skills as athletes get older (similar to what is done by area baseball associations). We offer coach pitch/t-ball for grades Prek-1 and machine pitch for grades 2-3. Teams are formed with a strong consideration given to keeping classmates and friends together.
Big West League – Kid pitch competitive fastpitch with weekly league games and weekend tournament opportunities. We field teams at the 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U levels. Within each age group, we field teams at various levels of competition (A, B, or C) to best match the skill levels of the players. Teams are formed largely based on player abilities with consideration given to classmates and friends.
Fall Ball begins in mid-August (practice) with games running through the end of September. Double header games are played on Sunday afternoons. We field kid pitch teams at the 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U levels. This is a very important season for girls transitioning to a new level the following summer, especially for 2nd and 3rd graders transitioning to kid pitch. Registration for fall ball takes place in July.
Hopkins fastpitch offers pitching, catching and skill development opportunities throughout the off season and winter months. Advanced Clinics are offered on Saturday afternoons for 2024 at Hit Dawg Academy. Beginner/Intermediate, pitching and catching clinics will be Sunday afternoons utilizing gym space at Hopkins North Middle School. Clinics begin in January and run through the end of February.
